Compare & Contrast:
Some similarities between a wiki and blogs is they both include the ability to update the content at any given time, contain links which can refer you to different content, an on-going platform never grows old as long as its active. Some differences include blogs are only editable by the owner, wikis can be edited by anyone, wikis are anonymous whereas a blog follows a signature, blogs are written in reverse chronological order where as wikis written according to content or organize in the way the organizer wants it.
The importance of convergence in my opinion would be that each platform will be able to benefit out of each others platforms instead of competing against one another. Blogs can be used for collaboration to increase awareness of businesses, products/services. A new use for a wiki that has not been done is possibly utilizing it as a tool for group projects in school.
